Entertaining and Educational Science for Children
Job Description…
• Part-time work available as Instructors/Performers for After-School programs in the Greater
Hartford and Western Mass. area.
• Work with the local franchise of the world’s largest science enrichment organization (now with 180
branches all around the world).
• Conduct fun, exciting, educational hands-on science activities with kids ages 5-12. All of our
programs provide a mix of education and entertainment.
• Programs are conducted in area schools as after-school “Science Clubs” & in-class curriculum
enhancement workshops during the school year, birthday parties on weekends, and Stage shows at
festivals, camps, schools, company events, etc… year-round & 3 hour long camps during the summer.
Some Topics Covered Include…
Lasers Acids and Bases
Electricity Magnetism
Model rocketry Optical Illusions
Chemical magic etc…..
Job Requirements…
• Experience working with large groups of young children
• Out-going, fun-loving, energetic personality
• Ability to demonstrate activities to groups of 15-25 children
• Must have a reliable car
• Available weekdays (after 2 pm) for after-school programs and /or weekends for birthday parties
• If you want to do stage shows; they may be held days, eves or weekends–you can arrange to do
only those that fit your schedule—Great flexible way to supplement your income
• Theatre/performance experience required for Stage shows and helpful for all events
• Science background helpful, but not required
